Three days lets you add Lusail, The Pearl and a run up the coast — here is the full plan.
With three days you keep the classic two-day plan and add either Doha's new north — Lusail and The Pearl — or a day trip to the UNESCO fort at Al Zubarah. Here is how we would spend them.

Day 1 — Old Doha
Souq Waqif for breakfast, Msheireb Museums, lunch, the Museum of Islamic Art from 2 pm, MIA Park at 4, a sunset dhow cruise at 5, and dinner in the souq. The full hour-by-hour version is in our 2-day itinerary.
Day 2 — National Museum, Katara and the desert
National Museum at 9, Katara at 11.30, lunch, then the sunset desert safari from 2.30 pm — dune bashing, the Inland Sea, camels and sandboarding, back by 8.

Camel racing at Al Shahaniya runs Friday and Saturday mornings from October to April — if day three falls on one, start there at 7 am and do option A afterwards.

Budget for three days (per person, two sharing, excluding hotel)
- Tours: dhow cruise $35, desert safari $60, north-coast private day from $130 (or $0 for option A by metro).
- Tickets: National Museum QAR 50; everything else free.
- Transport: metro/taxis ~$25; airport transfers $35 each way.
- Food: $30–60 a day mixing souq and restaurants.
- Total: roughly $300–450 for the three days.
Evening ideas if you have energy
Night one, the souq's shisha terraces; night two, dinner at Porto Arabia after the safari (book for 9 pm); night three, Lusail Boulevard's light show and a sky-lobby drink at Katara Towers. If you fly out late on day three, a final Corniche walk from the souq to MIA Park at dusk is the right last memory.
Tickets and bookings to make before you fly
The dhow cruise and the desert safari (both sell out on winter weekends), a Friday brunch if you want one, and the National Museum's 9 am slot. Everything else — MIA, the souq, Katara, Msheireb, Lusail — is walk-in and free. Airport transfers are worth booking with the safari so the same team has your flight details.
